Eliana went to our church's Vacation Bible School last week.  She had a blast.  They had a superhero theme, so she got to wear a cape every day.

Spaghetti Boy

Judah had spaghetti for the first time last week.  The results were as messy as expected (and as you can tell by the smiles, he loved it!)

Eliana the Flower Girl

Eliana was a flower girl at Jeff's cousin Jordan's wedding yesterday!

She did such an amazing job, and loved every minute of it.

Numbers Garden

A few days ago I needed to run some paperwork into OSU, and brought the kiddos along for the trip.  At Ohio State they have an area called the "Numbers Garden" that consists of, well, large metal numbers.  Eliana loved running and climbing on the numbers.  Judah preferred to chill in the stroller, so he does not make an appearance in the pictures below. :)

Today we visited our community pool for the first time this summer ... and the first time in Judah's life!  He is a pretty chill little guy, and seemed to enjoy the water.  Although Eliana was a bit leery about the water at first, she soon turned back into the water bug she had been last summer.  I am excited my schedule will be more laid back for the next few months, so we hope to log quite a few pool hours. :) 

Arizona Trip

A few weeks ago, I (Elizabeth) traveled to Phoenix for a Communication conference.  I was able to take some breaks from professional obligations to spend time with OSU friends also in town and to check out the beautiful area. Such a great trip! 

A few of us visited Sedona, which I had not been to before.  The red rocks were beautiful!

 It was also nice to have a little break from my normal routine to relax with some good friends (although I missed Jeff & the kiddos like crazy).  And ... I got to eat some delicious Mexican food on the trip...

Eliana turned 2 ½ yesterday!

  

Our little girl is showing more and more of her wonderful personality every day.  She loves to laugh, and has a very fun, sometimes silly, sense of humor.  Her language is constantly increasing, and she is now communicating clearly in short sentence.  (The newest, most often phrase she uses is "what's that noise?" anytime she hears something.)  She loves to watch movies, or short TV shows, especially Angelina Ballerina and Mickey Mouse.  She enjoys playing outside, including going the playground at the park, riding her Strider bike, using sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and going swimming.  She loves to do art projects, including painting and coloring.  She enjoys going on errands and being our helper (she'll often say "one more store!" after leaving a store).  Other outings she enjoys are the zoo and the "fish store" .  She is a good eater.  Her favorite foods are any kind of fruit, yogurt, and chicken nuggets (with plenty of ketchup).


We love you and are very proud of you, Eliana Hope!

Nine Months

Judah is now 9 months old!  After looking at the 8 month post, it's amazing how much he's learned in just a month.  Judah is now:

• Crawling!  He's mostly doing the army crawl, but he's fast, and he goes everywhere he can.
• Talking!  "ma-ma-ma" is his favorite sound to make.
• Sitting up.  This happened soon after he turned 8 months, but he gets quickly bored with sitting still now that he can crawl.
• Eating puffs, Cheerios, yogurt melts, and shredded cheese.

Judah loves swinging at the park, playing on his toy drum, and (as always) watching his big sister.  Hard to believe it's just 3 months (which, being summer, will go fast!) until our little baby is a 1-year old.

Eliana & Great Grammy and Boppa

A few weeks ago Eliana got to visit her Great Grammy and Boppa (Elizabeth's Grandparents) with Mamaw Thompson.  They had a wonderful time making peanut butter cookies, doing crafts, and visiting a nearby living history museum.  Here are some pictures of their fun time together:
