A Visit To Great Grammy's

I am sorry for the long time since my last post. The flu for me, then for Jeff, plus the demands of school have made life slightly crazy for a little while. Thankfully Ellie didn't get sick because she was the only one wise enough to get a flu shot...hehe. But we are all healthy now and I will be posting more regularly. :) Since we were feeling better by last weekend, we went to visit some of our very favorite people -- my grandparents and my uncle. Eliana had a great time!

Eliana enjoyed playing with some of the hippos in my Gram's collection -- including this guy that she got to take home!
This was her general mood while we were visiting -- she loves those guys!
Of course, though, as soon as I go to take a "posed" shot, the poker face comes out. :) She really did have fun with her Great Uncle Kris

We love you guys!

Playing in the Snow and Football

Over the weekend Eliana played outside in the snow for the first time this winter. She liked walking around in the snow, but was (understandably) displeased when she did a face plant in the white stuff. Here she is:

We also enjoyed having people over to watch the Eagles' play-off game on Sunday; unfortunately, the outcome of the game was not what we wanted! Eliana showed her team support nonetheless.

Christmas and New Years with the Thompsons

I wanted to share about New Years with my parents (we also had our Christmas celebration at this time). Also, as a side note, this is my 100th blog post -- whoo hoo! It has been fun keeping people up-to-date with Eliana and our family through this site. :)
Unfortunately we didn't get many pictures of the weekend, but we had a wonderful time relaxing, going out to eat, playing games and ringing in the New Year.

More presents for Eliana. She really got into opening gifts this year.
One of her favorites was this xylophone. She loves playing it. We are thinking we may have a symphonic percussionist on our hands?
Grammy reading Ellie her new book
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast provided by my Gram. Yum!
We enjoyed our time with you, Grammy and Papaw! Love you!

Christmas with the Joneses

We enjoyed spending Christmas with the Jeff's family near Philadelphia. In the several days we visited, we enjoyed opening presents, playing lots of board games and the Wii, eating a huge breakfast at Shady Maple (an Amish-style buffet place), taking walks, watching movies, and lounging around while we were snowed in for a short time.

Eliana enjoyed opening gifts Christmas morning
She also liked starting the toy train that ran around the Christmas tree

As I mentioned above, there was much lounging:
