Family

Over the past few weeks, Eliana has been able to spend time with much of her extended Jones family members while we have been in PA -- something that doesn't occur too often because of a 10+ hour drive. She loved seeing everyone!

Great Mom Mom and Pop Pop Jones

Great Aunts (Sorry we didn't get a pic, Aunt Nicole!)

Uncle Christian and *honorary* Aunt Kara ; Uncle Kevin and Aunt Krista

Grandma Jones -- it's obvious they're crazy about each other, right? :)

And most special of all, Grandpa Jones. Grandpa is courageously battling cancer right now. Eliana was always able to make him smile and was a light in a difficult time for all of us. She is truly a blessing, as are your prayers for our family.

Daddy's Girl

Eliana definitely loves her daddy. When she is grumpy, he knows just what to do to make her smile. Here are some shots of Eliana and Daddy over the past few days.
Watching March Madness
Feeling the grass under her feet for the first time
Cuddling during 'fussy time' (the early evening hours)
This picture sums up their relationship well
*Thank you to our friend Chloe for loaning us the above onesie* ;)

St. Patty's Day

Eliana Hope is at least 1/8 Irish, so we thought we would dress her in green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I don't see red hair like her Daddy yet -- but it still may be too early to tell. :)

3 months

Last Friday was Eliana's 3 month birthday. Our little girl is loving the discovery of her hands (which usually end up in her mouth!), being able to hold up her head and turn to look at things she finds interesting, and talking, smiling, and laughing. We enjoy seeing her personality emerge more each day. Here are some pictures from the day:

"Mom, why do you always have that camera in my face???"

"Oh well ... I'll smile anyway..."

"Mom, why do you dress me up in these outfits???"

"Oh well...I'll smile anyway..." :)

This and That

It is truly a joy to be able to spend time with Eliana and to watch her grow, and I thought I would share two random things. First, one of her favorite things to do now is to 'talk' to us. Exhibit A:

Second, I think she's so precious when she's sleeping:

Our next post will be about what Eliana is doing at 3 months! :)

A Weekend Away

Last weekend Jeff went out of town to visit his brothers (and had a great time), so Eliana and I headed out as well to visit my parents. At almost twelve weeks, this was Eliana's first overnight visit. I have been known to (occasionally) overpack (a little bit)...hehe...and with a baby, the amount of stuff we packed for one weekend was ridiculous. How have people managed to travel with babies for millennia with just a sling? :) Here is some of it ready to be loaded in the car:

Eliana had a great time at her grandparents' house, although as a creature of habit, she got a little overtired from the new surroundings. She also loved going to the church where my Dad is a pastor and where I attended for many years. She was great during church and enjoyed all the attention from friends afterward. And I think she looked as cute as a button. ;-)

We are excited to take many trips as a family in the months and years to come!
